Car Toys is the largest independent retailer of mobile entertainment and wireless phones in the nation, with retail outlets across the western U.S. plus a massive online store at CarToys.com. Despite their status as a major player in their market, Car Toys was struggling to remain competitive in Google’s organic search results. By Q3 of 2010, Car Toys had little to no visibility in the organic results beyond core brand terms such as “Car Toys.”
It was critical that Car Toys expand their online presence before the all-important Q4 holiday season. Car Toys looked to Point It to provide a search engine optimization (SEO) strategy to increase traffic, not only online but to Car Toys store locations as well.

Solution

Point It conducted a comprehensive site audit across the Car Toys site, identifying and prioritizing issues and providing a timeline to fix these issues before the approaching holiday season.
After the issues raised in the audit had been addressed, Point It provided ongoing SEO management and site optimization across product, service and brand categories. This ensures that the Car Toys site responds to changes in search engine algorithms and continues to attract new, relevant traffic to the site and retail locations.

Results

The areas of the site that Point It has optimized have seen an 89% increase in overall organic search engine traffic year over year. Since Point It began providing SEO services for Car Toys, organic traffic has increased 80% on the target phrases for which Point It was optimizing. These improvements have allowed Car Toys to better assert themselves as industry leaders in their online market.
