Promoted at Point It: Matt Mason, Client Manager

Welcome to our new blog series introducing you to some of the talented folks we’ve recently promoted into new positions at Point It. As you can probably tell, we think Point It is a fabulous place to work. Our people are the reason we feel confident telling you that we’re the leaders in digital marketing today: we invest in finding, retaining, and promoting the strongest possible team to serve you. Today, we’d like to introduce Matt Mason, Point It’s newest Client Manager, in conversation with our Sr. Manager of Marketing, Tim Mohler. Matt has taken a leadership role with some of our newest clients, and works on our paid search, social, and programmatic display teams. He also frequently shares his expertise on our blog.

TM:  Tell me about your career path at Point It. How has Point It helped you reach your career goals?

MM: I started off as a completely green Associate Client Manager on the paid search team. I made a career jump from Finance to Marketing and Point It made it possible for me to pursue my passions. Over the last year, Point It has helped me move quickly from
a search Rookie to a search Veteran. Whether it be assisting with enterprise level strategic accounts or leading small business accounts, Point It has put me in various positions where I was forced to learn and grow while also having the support around me to make the best decisions for the client. Then as needs arose, I was fortunate enough to be placed on the Programmatic Display team as well as the Paid Social team. This helped to increase my knowledge of digital marketing as a whole. All of these things combined are what helped me move into my new role as a Client Manager.

TM:  What inspires you to get great results for your clients?

MM: Honestly, I am inspired to get great results for my clients by the clients themselves. There’s no better feeling than when a client sets a business goal and you help them crush that goal and exceed their expectations.

TM:  What do you love best about your job?

MM: I know it sounds cheesy, but I love the culture most. I also love the fact that every day is an opportunity to learn something new, to challenge yourself. But at Point It, we have an incredible culture and amazing people. I genuinely enjoy being around my co-workers and many of them are friends outside of work.

TM:  How would someone go about doing what you do?

MM: I would say first and foremost, have a passion for what you’re doing. The one thing about digital marketing is that you can be taught the skills, but if you don’t have a passion to learn and succeed, you won’t make it. You’ve got to have ownership.
