Top 5 Tips to Increase Website Conversions

The time it can take for a potential customer to make a judgement about your company can be mere seconds. They see something they like, they stay and look around. See something they don’t like or confuses them, they bolt. Increasing a potential customers time on your website greatly increases the chances that they will convert. Here are my top 5 tips on how to increase those website conversions:

1. Make sure your site is mobile friendly

I have this first on the list because it’s the MOST important. As you know, more and more people are visiting and making purchase decisions on their mobile device. If your website isn’t mobile friendly, you’ll lose a massive audience which can dramatically impact your bottom line.

2. Get rid of industry jargon

If a visitor doesn’t understand what you’re saying on your site, they aren’t going to stay around very long. Ensure the language on your site is clear and to the point. Filling the pages with industry jargon doesn’t’ make you look smarter, it just confuses the customer!

3. Offer proof

Customer testimonials are a great way to show potential customers that your product or service works!

4. Make it easy

Whether you are selling product or service, make the purchase process easy and straight forward. If you are operating an e-commerce with direct purchases, make the checkout process quick, easy and simple. Don’t make the customer jump through hoops to complete their purchase. The more steps, the more likely they will be to abandon.

5. Include contact info

Customers want to know that there’s someone they can talk to on the other end. Providing contact information lets customers know you are easily accessible.
